Democratic Leaders: Speaking Truth to Abuse of Power
While Trump’s movement aggressively pushes its authoritarian agenda, Democratic leaders remain passive, issuing only mild warnings instead of rallying a strong and unified opposition.
For decades, Grandmothers, Mothers, and Women (GMW) have stood on the front lines of democracy, helping cleaning up the wreckage left by Republican administrations. We did it when Obama had to fix George W. Bush’s economic disaster, and we watched as Biden worked tirelessly to undo Trump’s chaos. Now, as we stare down the threat of Trump’s 2025 Plan, we demand more from our Democratic leadership.
The GOP controls all three branches of government, plus the Supreme Court, and their extremist agenda is in full force. So why are Democratic leaders still offering olive branches instead of calling out their corruption? Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer—our base needs to feel empowered, appreciated, and informed every day, not just when it’s time to vote.
We Demand Relentless, Unapologetic Truth-Telling
We’re inspired when we hear Jasmine Crockett, AOC, Cori Bush, and Cory Booker and others,speaking truth to power. But where is the full force of the (CBC) Congressional Black Caucus? The Democratic Party needs ALL HANDS ON DECK to expose the GOP’s attack on democracy and ensure that Americans understand exactly what’s at stake.
A Message to Our Democratic Leaders:
• Educate the public on Trump’s 2025 Plan—loudly, consistently, and aggressively.
• Stop catering to moderates and independents who refuse to vote for you anyway.
• Empower the Democratic base daily—not just when you need our votes.
• Expose Republican hypocrisy, lies, and abuse of power at every turn.
We refuse to sit back and watch the GOP destroy our democracy without a fight. And we refuse to let our leaders remain silent while we do all the heavy lifting. We’ve saved America before—now it’s time for our elected officials to do the same.
